Our Distributor

Our primary distributor is Sakanotochu (On The Slope), a Kyoto-based distributor and NPO.  Most of our vegetables are sold through this supportive and growing organization. They source organic vegetables from farms all over the Kansai area in Japan, and make every effort to support farmers in many ways. Our veggies make their way into their 800 member Veggie Box Program, local restaurants, health food stores and retailers. You will be in good hands if you join their Veggie Box Program, or place any order through them on their English and Japanese website found here

Wholesale or Ongoing Orders

We can also accommodate direct wholesale orders upon request. Please contact us directly by email if you would like to order a large quantity of one crop, or ongoing weekly sales for your business. Wholesale amounts and prices will be negotiated upon inquiry. Orders need to be made a minimum of one week prior to the delivery date. If you know well in advance that you will need a large amount of one crop, consider letting us know months ahead so that we can be sure to grow it for you! Refrigerated shipping costs will be added to the price of the order, unless you can pick it up in person.

I would just like to ask you a couple of questions! First – next year, my husband and I plan to move to Mito in Ibaraki to teach English. I am a mostly raw vegan, and thus eat looooots of organic fruits and veggies. Do you know of other places to get local grown organic produce? Maybe from other growers in the organization you’re in? And second – if you don’t know of anything like that in Ibaraki, would you be able to ship that far without it making the price completely inreasonable?

We’re trying to plan our budget a little so we know what to expect, but I’m not willing to sacrifice much when it comes to organic vs. conventional….

Anyway, thanks! I can’t wait til I can have my own garden and not have to worry about all of this! XD

3 weeks before we come and visit Kyoto !!! We will be there end of December. Can you organize a “veggie box” delivery at that season ?
    Thanks in advance,

    • hellofarmorganics November 8, 2016 at 6:59 pm #

      Hello Nico,
I’m so sorry, but we will probably be shut down by then. We live up in the mountains of Kyoto where lots of snow tends to accumulate, making veggie digging very challenging. We shut down our operation for the winter months. If you would still like an organic veggie box, however; our distributor, offer a year round veggie box program. They source organic veggies from dozens of farms around Kansai and beyond. Hope that helps. Enjoy your time in Japan!
